Two women, aged 72 and 32, were killed and two men were injured in the attack on Sunday at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, police said.

Investigators believe that the suspect who was shot dead by the police is related to the church.

State police said the injured soldier was receiving medical treatment. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshere expressed mourning on social media and said that “violence is not a place in your Commonwealth or country”.

The initial shooting took place at the regional hub in the Fayte County, the Terminal Drive near the Blue Grass Airport (1: 3: 36 GMT) at 4: 36 pm when the suspect was shot dead by the suspect.
