Notes from Yankees spring training Tuesday.
Left-handed relievers Tim Hill and Brent Hedrick each threw a scoreless inning, with Hedrick striking out twice.
J.C. Escarra, trying to prove that he should make the club as a third baseman and backup baseman (with Ben Rice starting), hit his second home run of the spring, this one off a left-hander as he went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

While playing for Panama, Jose Caballero robbed Jason Dominguez of a big hit when the hard-hitting shortstop blocked a single to the hole and shot first to get out.
Luis Gil will make his third start of the spring when the Yankees visit the Red Sox at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida.
