George Springer homered in on the first pitch off Bryce Miller, who then escaped a two-out jam in a 27-pitch first inning.

Anthony Santander singled in the second inning with Toronto’s only other hit, and Seattle’s pitchers retired 23 of the Blue Jays’ final 24 hitters as Miller, Gabe Speier, Matt Brach and Andres Muñoz combined to throw just 100 pitches.

Raleigh, who led the major leagues with 60 homers, tied the score for sixth with his ninth homer in 14 games at Rogers Center. Kevin Gausman had held hitters to 0-for-16 on singles in the postseason before Raleigh’s homer.
