Eviatar David was seen with a wide smile and his hands on his head in disbelief when he was finally returned to Israel, more than 700 days after he was kidnapped in the terrorist attack that occurred on October 7, 2023.

David’s father told Channel 12 that his family can’t wait to “hug him, smell him and breathe him” once he returns.

David, 24, was among the remaining living hostages released as part of a ceasefire agreement that will also lead to the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

The barbaric video of David has horrified those praying for his safe return. In the video, the skeletal hostage said he had not eaten for days, then showed the grave he was forced to dig himself.

“This is the grave I think I will be buried in,” he said. “Time is running out.”

Israelis turned out in their thousands for one of the weekly hostage demonstrations, demanding a ceasefire in response to the traumatic footage.

David was initially transferred to Gaza when Hamas terrorists stormed the Nova music festival more than two years ago.

Other photos on Monday showed that David could not hide his excitement as he arrived at Beilinson Hospital in central Israel.

Israelis and Gazans across the region cheered the US-brokered peace deal between Israel and Hamas as President Trump They chanted “the end of the era of terror and death.”

The agreement is also expected to return the bodies of the 28 dead hostages so they can be given a proper burial.
