Sadness Tyson Fury over Dontay Wilder: Shadow himself before?

Tyson Fury expressed sadness to Dontay Wilder when he was asked today about his thoughts on the Bronze Bomber’s performance last Friday night against Tyrrell Anthony Herndon.

Wilder’s right hand gone?

Fury says he saw a clip of a former WGLC Wilder (44-4-1, 43 kos) clip with Herndon, and felt that his knee on June 27 was only “shadow” of his own knee 27, at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas. Dontay’s right hand power had disappeared, and was forced to use his left for his power punching.

Although he dropped Herndon (24-6, 15 ko) twice on the way to beat him in the seventh, he was forced to shed clubbing rights and leave hands. His famous straight right looked weak.

Before the fighting, Dontay revealed that he had been dealing with a right shoulder problem, but said he was free of injuries. If this is a permanent situation, Wilder will need to retire, as he cannot beat any of the top 15 without his right hand to be fully functional.

As far as Deontay, 39, can eventually regain strength in his arm, it should be right. Definitely, he cannot continue to fight the opposition of a top tier if he cannot recover his full strength. Wilder had problems looking sleepy and shy even before his right shoulder problem.

He looked afraid to throw a punch in his trilogy game against Fury in 2021. He dropped ‘The Cyspy King’ twice in the fourth, but couldn’t put it away after gazing out.

Fury responds to Wilder’s performance

“I saw a clip of it. It was sad to see. And it was sad to see someone of the fierce and ferocity of Dontay Wilder and all that. Just a shadow of his old glory,” Tyson Fury told HUB TV fightsResponding to Dontay Wilder looking weak and troubled in his victory over Tyell Anthony Herndon last Friday night. “I’m sad, and I beat the b **** out twice. So I’m sad about it.”

Rage is not one to talk about a fighter a shadow of their previous self. He looked 100% washed in his last two fights against Oleksandr Usyk, losing the two fights. The way Tyson performed in both fights, he had lost to many of the top 15 competitors. At 36, nowhere Fury was close to the highest form he showed years ago when he beat Gwladimir Klitschko in 2015 and Dontay in 2019.
