Political Heavyweights Peter OB (left) and Atiku Abubakar (right) have joined the army

Two major opposition leaders of Nigeria have joined a new political party to challenge President Bolkinubu and his ruling party in the next election.

After moving away from their parties from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labor Party (LP), Atticu Abubakar and Peter OBI have been elected as their new political home to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This is the biggest shake -up in Nigerian politics after the end of the military rule in 1999 1999.

Some political heavyweights of all the progressive Congress (APC) party of Tinubu have also put their weight behind the new political movement.

Why did they establish a coalition?

The announcement of the ADC is a series of discussions between leaders for the joint march rather than splitting their opinion in the 2027 elections.

After the opposition supporters divided Abubakar with 5%and OBI with 5%, Tinubu won the voting by only 37%votes in the election of 223.

OB was removed from the PDP after the party was elected as the presidential candidate by the party.

Following the unveiling of the ADC, interim president David Mark said that this is an attempt to save the country’s democracy and prevent Nigeria from becoming a one-party rule.

Both the PDP and the LP are struggling with the internal crisis that some believe that the external troops are incorporated.

Analyst Shehu Iliasu said that Abukar and OBI are learning the lessons of the last election.

“In 233, they were so close and OB both thought they may have won a joint ticket so that they wanted to work together at this time and correct their mistakes,” he told the BBC.

Who are the main characters in ADC?

Former vice -president Atticu Abubakar is expected to run again in 2027

In the last election, Tinubu’s biggest challenging, extrem Abubakar and Peter Obi are the face of the alliance.

Although the official announcement of the candidates has to go a long way, the political commentators have estimated that Abubakar will have another firing on the presidency – this would be his fifth attempt – former Ambra Governor OBI elected his vice president.

Other political heavieves in the coalition include former Senate President David Mark, who is leaving PDPs like Atticu, former Tinubu Associate Foi Nasir Al-Rufai and the last Dispenser Rotimi AMachi.

What are their possibilities in 2027?

Analyst Ben Kenneth says he believes that the coalition has a better chance of defeating Tinubu than the last time.

“In the last election, it is clear to see that they would have won by assuming that they have worked together if they saw what happened to Atiku and OB in the last election, so they have realized that they need each other.”

However, another analyst Sunny Hamasu thinks that Tinubu is now a good chance compared to 2023.

He said, “When a leader in Nigeria and Africa is in the second tenure, it is very rare, and so I think that Tinubu now has a better chance than when he was not in office in 2019,” he said.

Is the ruling party nervous?

The ruling party says that at least the coalition does not hurt him that does not appear as a real danger.

Acting President Ali Bucker Dalori told the BBC Hausa that the Alliance will not have any effect on the APC.

He said, “No one is talking about the alliance except Abuja. He is also in the hotel in Abuja and when he is defeated in the elections, he will leave the country,” he said.

What are the main political parties saying?

The largest opposition party in the country, PDP, had refused to join the Alliance by preferring to deal with the APC.

The Labor Party appealed to its supporters to focus and determine the backdrop of the party, and refused any plans to join the alliance.
