A young Brokelin was shot on Saturday night while on his way to pick up his 9-year-old daughter in a local beauty salon-and he is still in a loose state.
Police and relatives said that Jahshim Witfield, 27, was heading to capture the girl in Clinton Hill shortly before 9:30 pm when he was shot in the trunk and left the wounded on the sidewalk.
Two’s father was transferred to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he announced his death.
“My son left,” Jeddah, the dead man, Evelyn and Whitefield, told The Post on Sunday. “Do not call me the grandmother, call me” what. He would have preferred to come to my home from his mother’s house.
The relatives said that Witfield, who was working as a security guard, set out two girls – Ariana, 9 years old, and Kai, 4 years old – and was on his way to pick up his older daughter in the beauty salon when he was shot.
“He was a great father. This is what he cares about, his family,” said a woman who defines herself as a aunt of Whitefield to the Post on Sunday. “He was a loyal father and while they took him, his daughter was spending all his summer.
“Her life will be different forever.”
A New York police spokesman said the shooting was under investigation, and the police did not reveal a possible motivation for the deadly confrontation – and they did not arrest the perpetrator.
