Saleh al-Jaafrawi, a popular Palestinian influencer who documented the war in Gaza, but also celebrated the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel, was killed on Monday in clashes between Hamas and other Palestinian factions, according to reports.

The death of Jaafarawi was cheered by many Israelis, who saw him as a Hamas advocate, although many pro-Palestinian activists mourned him — including the wife of New York City mayoral front-runner Zahran Mamdani.

Rama Al-Dawaji shared an Instagram story about “Habib Jaafarawi,” with four broken heart emojis.
