The Portuguese Football Association said on Thursday that the Portuguese Liverpool striker Dyou Jota, 28, died in a car accident near Zamora in northwestern Spain with his brother.
The regional firefighting Ministry of Castile and Lyon, where Zamora is located on its website that a car crashed early on Thursday, shortly after midnight, and exploded in fire, with two men, between the ages of 28 and 26 years.
“We have lost heroes,” Portuguese Football Association said in a statement.
Spanish police told Reuters that they were unable to formally confirm the names of the deceased, but everything indicated that he was Jota and his brother.
The spokesman said that Lamborghini was traveling on the way.
They said that the bodies were transferred to the forensic medical unit in the nearby Zamora, where the autopsy will be carried out.
Jota, who married on June 28, helped Liverpool win the Premier League last season and also won the FA and the League Cup with the Mersiside team.
