In his farewell battle, Derek Chisora will take on Deontay Wilder in London, as he hopes to hang the gloves off the back of a solid victory, and an American heavyweight competitor Jarrell Miller has weighed whether he believes that ‘del boy’ can defeat his compatriot.
Wilder has lost four of his last six professional fights but seems willing to challenge Oleksandr Usyk for the world’s united heavyweight titles, provided he can defeat Chisora in two months’ time.
Meanwhile, 42-year-old Chisora has united three consecutive wins Since losing out to Tyson Fury for the third time, when facing ‘The Gypsy King’ for the WTP heavyweight crown back in 2022.
The form of the two men means that Wilder-Chisora is considered a 50/50 relative, although some fans feared Chisora’s welfare when he was associated with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ a few years ago.
In an interview with All the fighting smokeHis fellow heavyweight candidate Miller admitted that he believed the home fighter will ‘take Wilder’s head away’ because of his superior gas tank down the passage.
“All I’m saying right now is that Chisora is going to beat that head off.
“In my honest opinion, based on recent performances, activity and punching output, I think Chisora has a better chance of winning this battle.
“He has shown that his chin is amazing, he has been dropped a few times, cast him out and anyway when he comes to Chisora, he is a warrior.
“His heart, his mindset, he will lose fighting and he is still fighting. He is a different kind of conditioning.”
Wilder-Chisora will be held in the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, April 4With Viddal Riley expected to appear in the main card event.
