
Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis: Pound-Am-Pound No. 1 in the future?
After becoming a united world champion and proving he was the best welter weight in the world, Jaron “boots” ennis decided to move up in weight, and judge according to his recent calls, Ennis focuses on making a run to the top of the pound-for-pound list.
On the night of October 11th at the Xfinity mobile arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jaron Ennis walked into the area with the intention of making a statement. At the end of the scheduled 12 round pulp, Ennis made a statement that was high and clear.
Back in April 2024, Ennis made a significant career movement when he signed with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. Two months later, Boots Ennis in the area was defending his IBF title against David Avanesyan.
On that particular night, Ennis worked part-time hours as he stopped David Avanesyan in the fifth round. Boots Ennis would go on to get another successful title defense when Karen Chukhadzhian defeated by unanimous decision.
When Ennis was supposed to face WBA World Welterweight champion, Eimantas Stanionis, many assumed that the pool would be a legal proof. Jaron Ennis easily passed the test, as he stopped Eimantas Stanionis in the sixth round and became a unified WBA/IBF weight world champion.
After proving he was the best in the welterweight section, Ennis moved up to 154, where he was supposed to face Uisma Lima. Based on his aggressive behavior and punching volume, Lima thought he had the opportunity to score the agitation and formally introduce himself to the mainstream.
Unfortunately for Lima, singing the national anthem lasted longer than the fighting. In the opening round, the Ennis switch hit shoes were in the Orthodox stance. With 2:02 remaining in the first round, the problems for Lima began when Ennis changed to Southpaw.
Ennis landercut landed right to the right followed by the combination of a three Munch that sent Lima down to the canvas. Lima managed to get up, and when the fight continued, Ennis landed a host of punch that Lima sent back down to the canvas.
Once again, Uisma Lima got up, and again was hit by a host of hard shots, which forced the referee to step in and stop the fight. With the victory, Jaron “Boots” Ennis (35-0, 31 KOS) made a successful first appearance in 154, while winning WBA’s Junior Weight-Center Temporary Title.
During his post-fighting interview, Jaron Ennis shared his liver weight-recitation list. Ennis Vergil Ortiz, Jermell Charlo, World Champion WBO Xander Zayas, called WLG World Champion Sebastian Funora, and World Champion IBF Bakhram Murtazaliev.
Jaron Ennis is a generation talent with all the equipment. It has high cycle IQ, athletics, speed, power and excellent punch location. Ennis is currently at the top of his career, and is ready to go after majesty.
Ennis and his champion, Eddie Hearn, predict that Ennis will run which will drive him to the top of the pound-for-pound list. During the after -fighting interview, Eddie Hearn expanded on his confidence in Boots Ennis.
“I tell you, he’s 28. This is the future of the sport of boxing,” said Hearn. “This is the pound-for-pound number while waiting. No one is 54, 60, and I dare say 168 Can beat this guy. We come for everyone, one man included, but we had to win that right.”
With Ennis by his side, Hearn went on to say, “Vergil Ortiz will be destroyed by Jaron Ennis. I will bet the house on it with Oscar de la Hoya. This is the best battle in boxing in America. It’s a lovely battle. It’s a great fighter, but this guy is another level.”
