It turns out that my manager was using my name (and the names of several other people on the team) to approve the “fake vacation” for himself. He’s been stealing hundreds of hours of vacation time and covering the tracks by pinning it on us.
My simple request for Friday leave was the only “glitch” that didn’t match his falsified records, triggering a massive audit. In fact, HR thanked me for being the only person who followed the rules so strictly that his scheme finally collapsed. By Friday afternoon, he was the one being escorted out in a cardboard box.
So, The bright sideDid I just stumble into the happiest period of my career or was this going to happen? I feel like I’ve survived a complete nightmare.
