Heavy gunfire was heard from the border between Israel and Lebanon, according to the BBC

From the small Israeli town of Metula, on the border with Lebanon, BBC reporter John Donison heard what sounded like a gun battle just a kilometer (0.6 mi) or so away.

Heavy bursts of machine gun fire echoed through the valley for 10 minutes and sounded like artillery fire. The Israeli military says it is trying to push back Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters from southern Lebanon.
