The recall says that the recently discovered program error may cause the rear vision cameras to display an empty image or even a frozen image on the screen after placing the car in the back.

Ford noticed that the empty image of the rear vision camera can reduce the width of the driver behind the wheel.

Ford added, if the image continues after the car turned from the opposite direction, the driver may become dispersed.

Both scenarios Ford pointed to an increased risk of collision.

The owners of the affected vehicles can take their ride to the agents, which will update the program for free.

Ford did not immediately respond to the Fox Business request to comment on the matter.

It is expected to send the owner’s notification messages by July 28.
