Euroven’s organizers postponed the opinion about the inclusion of Israel in the competition next year

Organizers of the Eurovision Sanga tournament have postponed the opinion on whether to allow Israel to be presented in the next year’s competition.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has said that “recent developments in the Middle East” took place in November .The virtual meeting to vote on the issue was canceled.

Gaza’s war has faced opposition from some other participating countries to participate in Israel’s Eurovis.

On Monday, Hamas freed all 20 living Israeli bonds in exchange for the return of hundreds of Palestine prisoners in the Israeli jail. This happens when the ceasefire is implemented on Friday.

In a statement, the EBU said, “In the light of recent developments in the Central East, the EBU executive board (October) agreed that there was a clear and personal discussion between its members on the issue of participation in the Eurovision Song Content 226.”

“As a result, the board agreed to put the issue on the agenda of its normal winter general assembly, which will be held in December instead of organizing an advance session in December.”

The Austrian National Broadcaster ORF, who organized the tournament in 2026, welcomed the EBU decision.

Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Iceland and the Netherlands have all said If Israel has participated.

Dutch Broadcaster Avrotros said that if there was a war in Gaza last month, his position would not change.

“If the conflict is developed differently in the near future or if the conflict develops differently, it will not change our position for 226. We will re -evaluate the participation in the next few years,” said a statement.

The BBC has asked Israel’s national broadcasting ear to comment.

It is said in September that it should be allowed to participate by saying that it is one of the long -term competition, one of the popular and successful participants. ”
