Ennis will not get credit beating 40 -year -old Crawford
Coach Stephen Edwards suspects Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis that Ennis will receive credit if he beats Terence Crawford 39 or 40 years in a year or two after he moves up to 160.
Building shoes, losing crawford
Ennis (35-0, 31 ko) still fights in a middle weight younger, and does not talk about wanting to move up to 160 or 168 at the moment. He would soon have to do so for him to catch Crawford (42-0, 31 Kos) before he retired.
“It’s so far away. ‘Boots’ have to clear four unaffected fighters. “Bakhram,” Stephen Edwards told Millcity Boxingdiscusses the unlikely chance of fighting between Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and Terence Crawford.
Stephen is fine. Ennis still fights at 154, and his champion, Eddie Hearn, wants him to clear the department before moving up to 160 to put the heat on Crawford. It could take two to three years for ennis to round all four titles at mid -Thursday weight. By then, Crawford will not be around, and if so, he is not going to get much left.
The built -in age excuse
“I think it’s too far away Unless Turki and Terence have drawn up a master plan To get the fighting (with ‘boots’). I don’t know how we could do that. If we do so, Crawford is 38 now. It would be 39 or 40. I don’t know if ‘boots’ would be praised for it, ”said Edwards.
Ennis will not be praised for beating Crawford if it is 39 or 40. If Crawford takes on any of the sharks in 168, such as Osleys Iglesias or Christian Mbilli, he is likely to lose. It would be worthless to Ennis after that and consider breaking down, which is more or less. He did not look good against Canelo, and certainly not against Israil Madrimov.
Turki millions could save it
He would have to be Turki who produced the great proposal to attract Crawford to fight against Ennis. I think Crawford would want $ 50 million to $ 150 million to fight ‘shoes,’ although nowhere is as popular as Canelo Alvarez.
Terence saw Canelo get $ 150m, and may feel he has taken his place as a boxing face with his victory. He would be confused in his head, thinking that victory turns him into the new canelo in terms of money. If it were like that, Dmitry Bivol would be the big money guy in the sport because he beat Canelo in a much more impressive style than Crawford in 2022.
It is a struggle that would not produce more viewers than the 41 million world viewers for her Canelo vs crawford on Netflix. Ennis is not yet a big enough name. So it would depend on whether Turki would want the fight enough for him to overpay Crawford.
Based on his last two performances against Canelo and Israil Madrimov, it’s not worth $ 50-100 million. Those were efforts from fighters doing fifty thousand. For Crawford to earn that kind of money, Turki would have to like it a lot, and it would take more battle.
As he is not interested in fighting, he focuses more on moving down to 160 to hold a title for legacy purposes.
Crawford persecuted Adames
Bud wants to win the Sixth Division World title and have a nice pay check, fighting the WTG Weight Champion CLC Carlos Adames. He is the one Crawford has a history with their Sparring sessions, where he got the best of Adames.
“I don’t know if it’s possible because ‘shoes’ would have to leave 54, and there’s a bunch of work in 154. Crawford would have to come out of 168,” said Edwards.
Time not on the side of shoes
Ennis cannot fight Crawford unless he tells his champion, Eddie Hearn, who is not interested in waiting in 154 to spend the next year or two building his resume. That’s a waste of time. It’s still going to be two sections apart from Crawford, and there would be even more age excuse.
