A Sabers fan threw the jersey on the ice after their third loss of the open season

Three games into the season and one Sabers fan has already thrown in the proverbial towel — or in this case, the jersey.

After the Sabers lost their third straight game to start the 2025-26 season, one fan had already given up hope for the year and let his jersey onto the ice.

The disappointing start has put some fans on edge as the Sabers try to avoid a 15th straight season without a playoff appearance and are now one of only four teams this preseason to not record a single win.

Buffalo is coming off a 2024-25 season in which it finished 36-39-7, just outside of a playoff spot.

The Sabers haven’t appeared in the postseason since 2011 and haven’t made it past the first round of the playoffs since 2007, when they reached the Eastern Conference Finals, defeating the Islanders and Rangers before falling to the Senators in five games.
