A career criminal who has been in and out of court-ordered counseling programs was finally taken off the streets of the Big Apple this week — as prosecutors revealed troubling new details about his alleged Rape of a teenage girl Which ultimately led to his imprisonment.

Jermaine Barham, 33 years old He was ordered held without bail on rape, robbery and sexual assault charges late Wednesday for the “violent and brazen” attack on a 14-year-old girl in Manhattan’s Stuytown Village on January 29 — in which prosecutors revealed he threatened to kill the girl while brutalizing her.

“The defendant followed her into the building, physically forced her up the stairs and sexually assaulted her, all while holding a knife and threatening to kill her,” prosecutor Joseph Goldstein told the court.

Parham allegedly entered the tenants-only building by “carrying” a resident who entered the building with a key card — and sneaked inside by closely following the woman before closing the front door.

Once inside, the creep saw the young victim waiting for the elevators. Parham allegedly grabbed her and forced her up the stairs, where he is accused of slamming her head into a metal railing and forcing her to undress at knifepoint, according to a criminal complaint filed by the district attorney’s office.

The monster allegedly snatched the teen’s phone, then raped and repeatedly raped her, with the attack only stopping when someone entered the stairs, forcing him to flee with the victim’s phone.

A fugitive task force made up of NYPD cops and US Marshals tracked down Parham in upstate New York on Tuesday and arrested him before returning him to the Big Apple to face charges.

Judge Terry McCormick told Parham in court: “I believe I have no choice but to remand you.” “I think that’s what I should do in these circumstances.”

The accused rapist had more than two dozen busts in his rap sheet and was wanted on an arrest warrant at the time of the horrific assault, law enforcement sources said.

He had two open cases, including a grand larceny case, when he was accused of rape.

Over the past two years, Parham has evaded justice at least three times by being assigned to counseling programs designed to keep criminals out of prison, the sources said.

His first break came after his arrest for theft in April 2024, when he was ordered to join a program and remained free despite being issued arrest warrants three times for failure to appear.

In March 2025, he pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sent to another program, taking him five months to complete one session, according to sources.

He was arrested again on January 8 for allegedly stealing $1,835 worth of merchandise from a CVS outlet, and was placed in another program during his trial — skipping that program as well, resulting in an open warrant for his arrest when he was charged with rape.
